Edith May’s Paradise
“The best little house concert space around”
Edith May’s Paradise is a house concert space that showcases a Featured Artist Series once a month usually on a Saturday night, or when the featured artist can coordinate with us.
We provide a top notch sound system, basic drum kit, and a Roland FP-7F keyboard with excellent piano action and sound.
We are a not for profit space and only suggest donations; usually $15 for the Featured Artist Series unless the artist request a different amount. Donation buckets will be near the door and/or the food table.
Feel free to bring a dish and what ever you’d like for a beverage. Plastic ware and paper products are provided.
The space is also open for an informal jam after the featured artist show is over.
“Good sound, good sight lines. More intimate than the original Cellar Door!”

“Edith May’s Paradise is a hidden gem. And hidden in plain sight. Half way between the Washington DC and Baltimore MD music scenes, down a private road and down a flight of stairs, this is a music room with excellent sound, a beautiful stage, and attention to detail that focuses on art and artistry rather than beers and bottom dollars. Georgie Jessup’s intimate room (she’ll sell it out with about 35 people or so) is an ideal place to see a show, and the aesthetic is flexible enough that it’s a great place to see a rock group or a solo singer / songwriter or even her own extremely compelling band “Philosopher Dogs”. Don’t be discomfited by going to see a “house concert”. Yes, you’re entering a private residence, but the moment you descend into the EMP performance area, you’re going to realize that ACTUALLY this private residence houses one of the best venues in the DC metropolitan area.”

“Lovely venue filled with lovely people and With shows produced by the loveliest of folks!”
