NEW---> JESSUP MESSAGE BOARD...Click HereNEW...Online Shopping for your convenience Hello World......1st Edition 2nd Edition 3rd Edition RecentRight now, part of my give-away includes the entire version of Hoka Hey from my duo Sweet Grass Smoke's self titled CD. Steal this song,Abbie Hoffman is smiling down on me right now,the Hoka Hey version my duo partner and madoline player David Salyers came up with, is much different than the garage, full band, version included on American Holocaust.
Sweet Grass Smoke reflects where my head and heart are today. Although it is only guitar, mandolin, and occassional percussion,I am very excited about our sound and the songs on this CD. It has been a pleasure working with my long time friend David Salyers, who is a great singer songwriter himself and a wonderful musician.
If I was an angry young man when I wrote most of American Holocaust, Sweet Grass Smoke finds me in a peaceful winkte warrior stage, and it feels pretty good to be there. The gift is in the burden.
Shortly before I had started on American Holocaust I was in a band called Winkte & Crazy Sacred Dogs. This was a full band situation. I had some talented musicians helping me to promote my songs. This was at a period of trasition for me on many different levels. Not the least of which was adopting the Lakota work, winkte, for myself. Thereare some really good songs on this CD that deal with what it means to be male, female or both. One of these songs, Post Op Freeway was included on the compliation For Her produced by the heart disease foundation called Women n Rock.
I hope you will continue to check out my web site for shows and further ranting and
raving. Please e-mail me and let me know how you enjoyed your stay.
Much thanks to my love and web master Angie Martin for making this site possible.
