I wrote Hoka hey as a call to arms; people are still
struggling
for their freedom. One of my brothers in arms had stopped fighting
"The
Good Fight" and my heart cried out for him.
We take for granted that this gain/greed culture we livein today
is
someway rightous. An alternative way of life was taken away from
all of us.
This way of being and living with Mother Earth is just as valid
as the gain'greed
culture. To quote John Trudell in Thunderheart, "There is a way
to live with the
Earth and a way not to. We choose to live with the Earth"
An elder once said "If you have come here to help me, you are
wasting your time....
But if you have come here because your liberation is bound up
with mine then let us
work together."
